Don Low:: Concept Art | Illustration | Design Portfolio
Don has been dabbling with drawing and comic art since he was 12 when he won a National Cartooning Contest in the students' section at that time. Since then he has contributed to the local newspaper as a student cartoonist.
He completed his Applied Science degree with honors in Materials Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 1996. After he worked as an engineer for 3 years, he decided to become a full time artist & illustrator. In 2001, he completed another degree in Multimedia Design at Curtin University of Technology afterwhich he became an art director for web animation and web designer for a local web company. During which he has helped the company to be awarded second place in the Asia Animation Pitch Contest in 2002. Subsequently he submitted his personal entry in 2003 and qualified as finalist again.
From 2003 to 2006, Don worked as a graphic design for his church full time. In 2005, he was awarded the Media Education Scheme by the Media Development Authority in Singapore to study abroad with his tuition fees fully paid for. He therefore completed his Master in Fine Arts in Animation at Savannah College of Art & Design in the United States in 2008. He is currently interning with The Walt Disney Company as a Creative / Art Intern.
